About Stillwater
A sanctuary built by two people who needed one
The Stillwater Wellness Center opened in Commerce City in 2017. Here is how it started, and what we are trying to do for the people who walk through the door.

Our journey to wellness
From two car accidents to a wellness center
The founders, Mike Bertles and Lewis Ortiz, weren’t strangers to adversity. Car accidents, once isolated incidents, became catalysts for a profound shift. Instead of succumbing to the pain and trauma, they chose a path less traveled — one of self-discovery and empowerment. Their journey led them to the transformative world of holistic healing, where they discovered the impact of chiropractic care, physical therapy, nutrition and mindfulness. It wasn’t just a physical recovery; it was a complete transformation.
Fueled by their own healing and a desire to share its power, Mike and Lewis envisioned a sanctuary — a space where individuals, whether recovering from injuries or simply seeking a healthier life, could find support and guidance. And so, The Stillwater Wellness Center was born.
Our approach
Hope finds a home here
Our team of dedicated professionals, each a master in their craft, embraces a holistic approach. We believe in weaving together the threads of physical therapy, chiropractic care, nutritional guidance and mental wellness practices to create a personalized tapestry of well-being for each individual.
But Stillwater is more than just treatments; it’s a community. We foster a network of support, where shared stories and experiences forge connections and empower each other. In this tapestry of shared vulnerability, you’ll find the strength to not just recover, but to thrive.
One roof, many modalities
Massage therapy, skincare, breathwork, Reiki and acupuncture sit side by side. If one approach isn’t the answer, the person who is may be two doors down.
Practitioners you can choose
Every member of the team publishes their credentials, the modalities they practice and a direct number. Ask for the therapist who suits you.
Goals before technique
Every session opens with a conversation. We pick the technique after we understand what you actually want from the hour.

Why clients choose us
What a visit to Stillwater is actually like
- You are listened to first. Your therapist or esthetician asks about your history, your pain points and your goals before anything else happens.
- The room is built for switching off. Soft music, warm lighting and an unhurried pace — all massages are completed in a welcoming, soothing environment.
- The plan is yours. Pressure, focus and technique are adjusted as the session goes on, and you leave with recommendations for what to do between visits.
- You can come back for something different. Bodywork today, skincare next month, breathwork when life gets loud.
